Organist Craig Cramer plays a cross section of music from the Baroque, Romantic and modern periods on the Fritts Pipe Organ at Saint Joseph Cathedral in Columbus, Ohio. He plays Reger’s Second Sonata with great confidence and reserve of technique, tossing it off with ease and refined musicianship. Cramer has also selected some lesser-known works such as a Batalha and wonderful new works by Zahnbrecher and Martinson. The organ has 66 stops on 3 manuals and is very different from the specialized baroque pipe organ that Paul Fritts has typically built in the past. The recording comes with an extensive booklet.
