This recording features the pipe organ built by the Skinner Organ Company at the Parish Church of Saint Luke in Evanston, Illinois. Organist, Todd Wilson and his daughter play works for organ and cello. Works include the Dupré Cello Sonata, Elgar’s “Salut d’ Amour”, Messiaen’s “Louange” from the Quartet for the End of Time and Saint-Saëns’ “Priere” for cello & organ. Mr. Wilson plays a combination of transcriptions and romantic masterpieces for solo organ, such as the “Carmen Fantasy” by Lemare, Farnam’s arrangement of Dupré’s “Cortege et Litanie” and much more. This pipe organ was beautifully restored by the renowned A. Thompson-Allen Company of New Haven, Connecticut in 1998.
